Agastya Nanda's upcoming war drama, 'Ikkis', slated for release on January 1, 2026, will feature the final on-screen performance of legendary actor Dharmendra. Amidst anticipation for the film, reports emerged detailing a song sequence shot in Pune during May 2024. This segment showcases Dharmendra's character attending a college reunion, initially in the background, before he joyfully dances with his friends.
Choreographer Vijay Ganguly described the experience of filming with Dharmendra as "amazing," noting the actor's "vibrant and full of life" spirit, working until 4 am to complete the song. Although the film depicts the college located in Lahore, the actual filming took place in Pune. The movie is a biographical drama centered on PVC Arun Khetrapal, who sacrificed his life for the nation at the age of 21.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, 'Ikkis' had its release date adjusted from December 25, 2025, to January 1, 2026. This shift ensures a solo release for the film, as confirmed by producer Dinesh Vijan, who believes a movie of this caliber deserves an unobstructed theatrical run.
