Dharmendra's Fiat Gamble: How a Car Became His Backup Plan

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, 89, is currently recovering at home after being recently discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. As the much-loved star recuperates, an intriguing story from his early years in the industry has resurfaced, shedding light on his foresight and grounded nature.

In the past, Dharmendra had fondly recalled the early spark that drew him to films, often wondering where the "beautiful personalities" he saw on screen were from and feeling a strong desire to be among them. That youthful dream would later blossom into a glorious six-decade career, making him one of the most adored actors in Indian cinema.

However, at the height of his early success, when Dharmendra started earning a steady income, he made a practical purchase that revealed his backup plan. He bought his first car, a Fiat, not just as a symbol of success, but as a safeguard. As the actor shared, he had planned to convert the Fiat into a taxi if his film career didn't pan out, so he could still make a living.
