On November 9, 2025, veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital, where he had been admitted and on life support over the past few days due to a critical health condition. As fans worried about his well-being, old stories about Dharmendra's relationship with actor Salman Khan resurfaced.
In a 2015 interview, Dharmendra had stated that Salman Khan would be the perfect choice to portray him on screen in a biopic, citing their similar characteristics and Salman's ability to capture Dharmendra's essence. Dharmendra also praised Salman as a "genuine" and "wonderful" person, recalling their first meeting when Salman had bravely dived into a lake to retrieve a dropped camera.
Salman Khan, who shares a cordial relationship with Dharmendra, was one of the first celebrities to rush to the hospital on Monday night to visit the ailing actor. Dharmendra's discharge from the hospital was confirmed by Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital, who stated that the veteran actor will now receive home treatment as per the family's decision.
