Idli Kadai Underperforms, Surpasses Chiyaan Vikram's 2025 Film Globally

As of October 12th, 2025, Dhanush's Idli Kadai has been struggling to make a significant impact at the worldwide box office. The film, which had a good start, has failed to maintain its momentum and witnessed bigger drops than anticipated, leading to an underwhelming total performance both in India and overseas.

In the 9-day extended opening week, Idli Kadai scored 44.25 crores in India. However, on the second Friday, the film's earnings fell below the 1 crore mark, earning just 85 lakh. The following Saturday saw a jump of 104.7%, with the film earning an estimated 1.74 crores, but this jump is not expected to make a major difference due to the overall lower collection.

Globally, Idli Kadai has earned an estimated 67.17 crore gross, which is a disappointing result. The film has, however, managed to surpass the lifetime collection of Chiyaan Vikram's 2025 release, Veera Dheera Sooran, which earned 66.39 crores worldwide. But this is not considered a significant achievement, as even Veera Dheera Sooran was a box office failure.
