Dhamaal 4: Franchise Milked Dry with Stale Humor

Dhamaal 4, the latest installment in the franchise, delivers a barrage of endless shouting, cartoonish chaos, and unwelcome fat-shaming jokes. The film's middling screenplay is further weighed down by excessive brand placements, which even a star-studded ensemble struggles to overcome. The humor relies heavily on slapstick, exaggerated movements, and predictable gags that unfortunately fail to elicit laughter.

The narrative, centered around a treasure hunt for 'Shaitan Singh's' gold, is stretched thin over its considerable runtime. Despite attempts at comic capers, the film's idea of humor involves characters falling, tripping, and enduring comical mishaps. Problematic jokes targeting a character's weight and a character with dwarfism are used for cheap laughs, highlighting the film's dated comedic instincts.

Actors like Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi show flashes of their talent, but are ultimately unable to salvage the weak script and underdeveloped characters. Riteish Deshmukh's performance is hampered by an overcooked accent, while female characters are given little agency or purpose. The film ultimately feels like a disservice to the franchise, prioritizing its commercial value over quality.
