Devon Theatre Group Offers Stage for Adults with Disabilities

In Devon, the All Stars Theatre Company is dedicated to providing performance opportunities for adults with disabilities. This inclusive troupe, comprised of individuals with a range of neurodivergent conditions and learning disabilities, ensures a part of society often overlooked finds its voice on stage. Rehearsals take place every Saturday morning at Lipson School Theatre in Plymouth, where members are currently preparing a show featuring jokes, dancing, and singing, scheduled to open in April.

The company, established in 2004 by parents seeking a confidence-building outlet for their daughter, has become a cherished 'second home' and 'happy place' for its more than 20 adult performers. Its success relies heavily on a handful of dedicated volunteers. However, the group has recently issued an appeal for new volunteers, specifically seeking one or two individuals to assist with technical support, highlighting the need for people who can integrate into their close-knit, family-like community.
