Actor Deven Bhojani: Politics and Acting Don't Mix

Veteran actor Deven Bhojani has articulated his deliberate choice to maintain a separation between his acting career and political commentary. He emphasizes his desire to be evaluated based on his craft rather than any political affiliations, noting a lack of deep knowledge on many contemporary political issues. Bhojani finds social media discussions often half-baked, making him hesitant to pass judgment.

Despite a career spanning approximately 40 years, Bhojani confesses to persistent insecurity regarding his profession. He describes himself as always hungry for work and eager to continue acting throughout his life. He would rather secure roles based on suitability for a character or story, rather than any political connections, likening this preference to the principle of secret voting.

Currently, Bhojani can be seen in the Netflix series 'Reporting Live,' where he plays a video journalist. The series delves into the sensitive topic of illegal sand mining. To prepare for the role, Bhojani underwent extensive training in handling professional camera equipment and experienced the physical demands of being a news cameraman, with a senior professional guiding him through the technicalities and movement required.
