The Marathi film 'Deool Band 2' has achieved remarkable success, surpassing Rs 100 crore at the box office. Following this financial triumph, the filmmakers have committed the entirety of the film's profits to a charitable initiative. The funds are being directed towards supporting the education of children whose parents, farmers, tragically died by suicide.
Director Pravin Tarde revealed that the profits were channeled to aid children in drought-affected regions of Maharashtra. This effort ensures that approximately 250 children receive two meals a day, with plans to sustain this program in the future. Producer Kailash Vani is credited for his support of this noble cause.
The film's release faced a significant financial challenge when Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment quoted Rs 42 lakh for the Digital Cinema Package, far exceeding the filmmakers' budget. Tarde approached Khan's team, highlighting the film's regional nature and limited resources.
Moved by their appeal and aware of Tarde's previous work, Shah Rukh Khan instructed his team to waive the fee. He prioritized the film's release over immediate payment, demonstrating significant respect for Marathi cinema.
