Richards Fights to Keep Finances Secret in Divorce

Denise Richards is seeking to shield her financial records from her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, as their divorce case progresses. The actress filed a request on June 26 for a protective order, asking the court to prevent Phypers from revealing her income details. This action was prompted by Phypers' petition for her pay records from 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.'

Richards, who appeared on the show from 2019 to 2020 and briefly in 2023, stated that publicizing her income could violate nondisclosure agreements and negatively affect her professional relationships. She also expressed serious concerns that Phypers might use the information to damage her public image, citing past instances where he allegedly shared false information with the media. These alleged actions have reportedly impacted her career.

The divorce filing by Phypers in early July cited irreconcilable differences after six years of marriage. Shortly after, Richards sought a temporary restraining order, alleging physical and emotional abuse, including threats and the possession of unregistered firearms by Phypers. She presented evidence, including a photo of a black eye, to support her claims. A judge granted her a five-year restraining order after she testified about the alleged abuse.

Phypers has strongly denied all abuse allegations, labeling them as completely false and deeply hurtful. He stated in July that he has always treated their marriage with love and respect and categorically denied any form of abuse.
