The Delhi Development Authority successfully hosted the 3rd International Kite Festival at Baansera from January 16 to 18, 2026. This popular cultural event drew an estimated 27,000 visitors over three days, significantly exceeding previous attendance figures.
The festival was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alongside Delhi's Lieutenant Governor V. K. Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Simultaneously, the 11th International Dance & Music Festival added to the cultural vibrancy.
Attendees enjoyed international and national dance performances, cultural programs, and a professional kite flyers' parade. An exhibition detailed the history of kite flying, while family-friendly attractions included play zones, camel rides, a Patang Bazaar, and food stalls, fostering community engagement by the Yamuna bank.
