Deepa Mehta, Mahesh Manjrekar's First Wife, Dies at 60

Deepa Mehta, the first wife of renowned actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar, has passed away as of late September 2025. Deepa, a renowned costume designer and entrepreneur, met Mahesh during their college days and the two married in 1987. They had two children, daughter Ashwami and son Satya, before their marriage ended in 1995.

Deepa went on to found the successful saree brand Queen of Hearts, which gained popularity in both the Marathi film industry and Bollywood. Her daughter Ashwami continues to model for the brand and is exploring a career in acting. Meanwhile, Mahesh has since remarried actress Medda Manjrekar, with whom he has a daughter, Saiee, who has also made her mark in the film industry.

Despite the separation, Mahesh and Deepa's children, Ashwami and Satya, have continued their own journeys in the entertainment business. The family is mourning the loss of Deepa, who was a respected figure in the industry and a beloved mother.
