Summary
- A script for a Dungeons & Dragons sequel has been written.
- The original film's box office performance impacted sequel plans.
- Filmmakers are currently working on multiple other projects.

A script for a sequel to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has been completed by directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. Despite the original 2023 film's critical success, its worldwide box office earnings of approximately $208 million against a $150 million budget were not profitable enough for Paramount to greenlight a sequel immediately.
However, the filmmakers were motivated to write a follow-up, with a script now existing. The delay in production is attributed to the financial performance of the first movie and the busy schedules of Goldstein and Daley. They are currently promoting their new film, Mayday, and are also involved in writing a Star Trek movie and producing a Bollywood-themed musical for Paramount.
While the Dungeons & Dragons sequel is on hold, the original film has found a strong audience through streaming services. The directors have previously discussed finding ways to produce a sequel at a lower cost. As of 2026, the status of the Dungeons & Dragons sequel remains uncertain, with fans waiting to see if the written script will ever be produced.
