DCU Batman Casting Soon: Gunn Drops Major Hints

Director James Gunn has revealed that the casting process for the new DC Universe Batman is nearing completion. He clarified that while no actor has been selected yet, the search will commence soon, and fans should disregard speculation about early cameos. Gunn stressed a commitment to casting the most suitable actor for the role, prioritizing talent over celebrity status, a method he noted has often been applied to Superman's casting.

Further details indicate that the DCU's Batman will be presented as a contemporary of David Corenswet's Superman, with both characters being of similar age. This approach aims to establish them as future close allies. The upcoming standalone film, 'The Brave and The Bold,' directed by Andy Muschietti, will serve as the introduction for this new Batman and his associated Bat-family, operating independently from Robert Pattinson's portrayal in Matt Reeves' films.
