Cruise & Hathaway Reunite for Days of Thunder Sequel

Tom Cruise is returning to the racetrack as Cole Trickle in a new Days of Thunder film, this time joined by Anne Hathaway. Paramount Pictures officially announced the sequel on August 29th. Hathaway is slated to play a team owner and engineer.
Cruise, who also stars in Top Gun: Maverick, is producing the project with Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. Jonathan Levine, known for directing Warm Bodies and 50/50, is set to direct from a script by Will Staples.
The new Days of Thunder is planned for an IMAX release on June 2, 2028. Paramount shared a photo of Cruise and Hathaway at a racetrack to announce the film. The original 1990 movie also featured Nicole Kidman.
