Renowned artist David Hockney presents a new body of work at London's Serpentine North Gallery. The exhibition, titled "David Hockney: A Year In Normandie And Some Other Thoughts About Painting," showcases new and recent pieces by the 88-year-old Bradford-born artist.
The collection features five still life works and five intimate portraits depicting members of Hockney's inner circle, including his family and carers. A significant highlight is 'A Year In Normandie,' an impressionist artwork painted on his iPad, inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry and depicting the arrival of spring from his home in Normandy.
Complementing the indoor display, a large-scale mural in the gallery garden illustrates a tree house scene from 'A Year In Normandie.' Hockney, known for iconic works like 'A Bigger Splash,' also created 'The Queen's Window' for Westminster Abbey. The exhibition is open from March 12 to August 23.
