21 Sep
Summary
- David Dhawan disliked KKHH title track initially.
- Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and KKHH released same day.
- Both films achieved major success and popular music.
Lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently recounted an amusing incident involving filmmaker David Dhawan and the hit song 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai's' title track. Dhawan, upon hearing the song, expressed strong disapproval, calling it 'ugly' and advising Anjaan against using it in his films. Anjaan, however, clarified that the song was not for Dhawan's project.
Dhawan's concern stemmed from the simultaneous release of songs from his own film, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,' which also featured lyrics by Anjaan. Released on October 16, 1998, both 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' achieved significant box office success. The soundtracks of both movies also became immensely popular, highlighting a shared triumph despite Dhawan's initial reservations about the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' title track.
