The modest railway worker's cottage, where Bowie lived from 1955 to 1968, will be restored to resemble its 1963 appearance, aiming for a public opening by the end of 2027. Bowie expert Geoff Marsh is curating the project, seeking to recreate the environment of Bowie's teenage years.

This restoration will remove modern additions like central heating and a new kitchen, replacing them with period features such as a coal fire and an outside lavatory. The focal point will be Bowie's small back bedroom, where he wrote his earliest songs and dreamed of stardom.
