The V&A is launching a major UK tour of its David Bowie archive, presenting over 100 items to audiences nationwide. Titled "David Bowie: On Tour," the exhibition will debut at V&A Dundee in November 2026, running until February 2027.
This landmark national partnership will display a wealth of objects, including costumes from the Ziggy Stardust era designed by Freddie Burretti and Kansai Yamamoto, and sketches from that period. Visitors will also see an acoustic guitar used by Bowie, his keys from his Berlin apartment during the recording of 'Low' and 'Heroes,' and concept art for 'Low.'
Further stops on the tour include Showtown in Blackpool from June to September 2027, followed by the Bowes Museum in County Durham from October 2027 to January 2028. The exhibition will then visit the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull from February to May 2028, concluding at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery from June to September 2028.
Additional venues are anticipated to be announced soon. The tour follows the September 2025 opening of the David Bowie Centre at the V&A Storehouse, which houses the archive and features a permanent display of artifacts, celebrating one of music's most influential figures.
