Despite featuring memorable moments like the microchip scene and Radcliffe's performance as a tech-savvy villain, Now You See Me 2 received a less favorable critical response than the original. It earned a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to the first film's 51%.
The sequel also underperformed at the box office relative to its production budget. Both Now You See Me and its sequel are accessible on Peacock. The original film starred a different ensemble cast and launched the franchise.
