The musical centers on a middle-aged fan who makes a deal with the devil for his struggling baseball team to defeat the formidable New York Yankees.
In an unprecedented move, Major League Baseball and MLB Studios are partnering on this production. This collaboration aims to bridge the worlds of sports and theater, celebrating the shared spirit of drama and excitement. Haley Swindal and Lia Vollack are producing the show.
Originally debuting on Broadway in 1955, "Damn Yankees" won seven Tony Awards. The creative team for this revisal includes book writer Will Power, additional lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and direction and choreography by Sergio Trujillo, who emphasized a desire to bring joy back to the theater with this fresh interpretation.
