The iconic crime drama Dalziel and Pascoe is set to be rebooted for BritBox and ITV, featuring a significant gender-swap for its lead roles. Kerry Godliman, known for her work in 'After Life,' and Nina Singh from 'Virdee,' will step into the shoes of the titular detectives. The series will center on the evolving relationship between the experienced Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel, portrayed by Godliman, and the more by-the-book Detective Sergeant Paige Pascoe, played by Singh. Their contrasting methods are expected to forge a formidable partnership.
This new six-part adaptation is based on Reginald Hill's novels and comes from All3Media-backed West Road Pictures. The original series, which aired for 12 seasons on the BBC between 1996 and 2007, is being brought back with a new creative team. Colette Kane and Daisy Martey are co-creating the reboot. Production is scheduled to begin in the UK during the spring. Dalziel and Pascoe will be accessible to audiences in the US and Canada via BritBox, while UK viewers can watch it on ITV.
