Singer Bozzio's painful implants spark fundraising plea

Rocker Dale Bozzio is reportedly suffering from severe capsular contracture, a condition causing significant pain due to hardened scar tissue around her breast implants. The 70-year-old musician's son, Troy McKenzie, has initiated a GoFundMe to raise funds for her necessary surgery, aiming to reach a $35,000 goal. He emphasized the urgency, stating that the procedure and subsequent recovery, estimated to take up to three months, are not covered by insurance.

McKenzie expressed deep concern over his mother's condition, highlighting how the pain makes it difficult for her to perform, record music, or earn a living. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons notes that capsular contracture affects about one in six breast augmentation patients, with varying severity. Bozzio, a prominent figure in the 1980s music scene and formerly of Missing Persons, also has a history of significant health challenges, including a severe fall in 1976.

The fundraising campaign seeks to provide Dale Bozzio with much-needed financial relief and peace of mind, allowing her to focus on healing. Donations are intended to cover her medical treatments and recovery expenses. Bozzio's son hopes this intervention will enable her to return to performing and sharing her music with fans.
