Five years ago, on February 23, 2021, the electronic duo Daft Punk announced their breakup through a video. Although the duo remains defunct, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are acknowledging their past work. They recently released a new music video for their 2005 track "Human After All." This video incorporates footage from their 2006 science fiction film, Electroma, and was edited by Cedric Hervet.
The "Human After All" music video depicts Daft Punk driving through a desert landscape. They eventually enter a residential town where they observe the residents, all of whom are also wearing helmets. This visual theme echoes the duo's iconic masked personas.
Last fall, Daft Punk participated in Fortnite and released vinyl remixes of the "Human After All" album to mark its 20th anniversary. The album, their third full-length LP, was released in 2005 and was followed by "Random Access Memories" in 2013, which became their final studio album.
