Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey will reprise their roles for the concluding six-part season of the BBC comedy "Daddy Issues." The popular show, which has been a significant success for BBC Three, is filmed and set in the English town of Stockport.
Season 3 advances the narrative by 18 months from the conclusion of the second season. Gemma Moscrip, portrayed by Wood, has achieved a promotion at a hair salon, and her daughter, Sadie, has started nursery. As Gemma settles into a familiar routine, she contemplates finding love.
However, a romantic encounter triggers a return to her former, more chaotic self, necessitating her reliance on her father, played by Morrissey, who is increasingly demonstrating more responsible behavior. This final season is set to provide closure to the series' storyline.
The production is handled by Fudge Park, with Danielle Ward as the writer and creator. George Kane directs, and Andrew Harvey produces. Executive producers include Phil Gilbert, Lou Wood, Morrissey, Ward, and Damon Beesley.
Jon Petrie, the outgoing Director of Comedy Commissioning at the BBC, and Fiona Campbell, Controller for Youth Audience at BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, commissioned the season. Seb Barwell is the commissioner, and Fremantle is managing global sales for the show.
