Singer Lucy Dacus surprised attendees at a benefit concert for Sudan and Palestine relief by inviting Chappell Roan to join her on stage. The Artists for Aid event, held at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, saw the two artists perform a rendition of The Magnetic Fields' "The Book of Love." Dacus introduced Roan as a friend who had called a few days prior, expressing excitement for their collaboration on the emotional indie pop ballad.
The benefit concert, which also hosted actor Pedro Pascal and model Bella Hadid, featured a star-studded lineup. Performances included Shawn Mendes, Clairo, Faye Webster, Blood Orange, Jazmine Sullivan, and Geese. Additional guests who lent their support to the cause were Noname, Daniel Caesar, 070 Shake, Rayvn Lenae, Omar Apollo, and Mustafa, the event's organizer.
This marked the third iteration of Mustafa's Artists for Aid, following previous benefits in New Jersey in 2024 and London last July. Saturday's Los Angeles show specifically aimed to gather funds for the Sudanese American Physicians Association and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, highlighting a significant effort to support vital humanitarian aid organizations.
