Sex and the City Star Keeps 'A Third' of Miranda's Clothes

Cynthia Nixon shared a surprising detail about her personal wardrobe, revealing that a significant portion originates from her role as Miranda Hobbs in "Sex and the City." The actress confirmed that the show's production was lenient, permitting cast members to take home any items they wished. Consequently, Nixon estimates that about one-third of her current clothing collection comprises pieces originally worn by Miranda. She noted that while she keeps some accessories from her role as Ada Brook in "The Gilded Age," these items are not practical for everyday wear.

Nixon's connection to "Sex and the City" extends beyond the original series, which concluded in February 2004 after six seasons. She reprised her role in the 2008 film and its 2010 sequel, and more recently in the 2021 revival, "And Just Like That..." which is slated for its third season finale in August 2025. Her current role on "The Gilded Age" sees her portraying Ada, a character in a period drama set in 1880s New York City. Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw, has also maintained a large collection of her character's attire, keeping all her "Sex and the City" wardrobe in storage.
