Dave Portner (Avey Tare) and Brian Weitz (Geologist) from Animal Collective have launched a new instrumental music venture called Croz Boyce. The duo's self-titled album is scheduled for release on May 8 through the Domino record label. This project was developed remotely, with Portner and Weitz contributing their parts from their respective home bases in Asheville, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C.
Fellow Animal Collective member Josh Dibb (Deakin) lent his skills to mix the album. Accompanying the announcement is the release of a music video for the lead single, titled "Hanging Out With a Blueberry Pop." This new project follows Animal Collective's 2023 album, *Isn't It Now?*, and recent solo efforts from both Portner and Weitz.
