Summary
- New sales company CrossBorder Films launched in London.
- Company led by Alla May, previously of Evil Doghouse.
- Inaugural slate includes 'Zombucha!' and 'Mergen'.

A new London-based sales company, CrossBorder Films, has officially launched, preparing to make its presence known at the upcoming Cannes Market. The company is spearheaded by industry veteran Alla May, who brings extensive experience from her previous work across the European film and television sector, including her role with Evil Doghouse.
CrossBorder Films is debuting with an intriguing slate of international projects. This includes 'Zombucha!', an Australian relationship comedy set for release in September, and 'Mergen', a Kyrgyz thriller that has already received significant acclaim, winning awards at the Bishkek International Film Festival and premiering internationally at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film investigates a police officer uncovering corruption in a remote town.
CEO Alla May stated the company's mission is to support auteur and festival cinema while also addressing a gap for audience-driven films, particularly those from cross-border contexts that lack major budgets or star power. These types of projects often face challenges traveling internationally. In addition to sales, CrossBorder Films plans to expand into development and packaging, with Polish My Life, a romcom about an editor in London, already set for Cannes.
