Critics Choice Documentary Awards 2025 Nominees Announced

On October 14th, 2025, it was announced that actor and producer Seth Rogen will be reviving the iconic 'The Muppet Show' as a special for Disney+. The new Muppet production will feature singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter in a starring role.

Separately, the Critics Choice Association has unveiled the nominees for the 2025 Critics Choice Documentary Awards, set to take place on November 9th in New York. Leading the pack with 7 nominations is the documentary 'Orwell: 2+2=5', which is up for best documentary feature, best director for Raoul Peck, and best political documentary. Another standout nominee is 'The Perfect Neighbor', which received 6 nods including best documentary and best director for Geeta Gandbhir.

The awards ceremony will be hosted by actor, writer, and producer Aasif Mandvi. Documentarian Ken Burns will be honored with the Critics Choice Impact Award, while filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady will receive the prestigious Pennebaker Award.
