The unsettling London-based drama "Criminal Record" is set to return for a second series, continuing its exploration of police corruption and moral ambiguity. Peter Capaldi reprises his role as the deeply unsettling DCI Daniel Hegarty, whose past manipulations are now widely known.
Cush Jumbo returns as DS June Lenker, who remains haunted by her failure to save a teenage victim of far-right extremism. Her idealism clashes with the harsh realities of her job, creating vulnerabilities that Hegarty, now in intelligence, is quick to exploit.
The new season promises heightened tension as Hegarty attempts to draw Lenker back into his orbit, while both investigate a dangerous far-right group and a fugitive from prison.
The series is praised for its gripping, character-driven narrative and its unflinching portrayal of a city steeped in corruption and moral compromise.
