Criminal Minds Revival Canceled After Two Seasons

The hit revival series, Criminal Minds: Evolution, which has been available to Paramount+ subscribers since 2022, is officially coming to an end. Season 20 will serve as the final season for the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team. This announcement follows the renewal of the series for its 20th season earlier this year, making the cancellation a surprising turn of events for fans and cast alike.

The news of the cancellation has prompted heartfelt reactions from the cast. RJ Hatanaka, who joined the revival, shared his sadness on Instagram, calling the cast the finest group he knows and expressing his heartbreak at saying goodbye again. A.J. Cook and Aisha Tyler echoed these sentiments on their Instagram Stories, emphasizing the strong, lifelong bond they share with their co-stars and referring to themselves as "Family for life."

Kirsten Vangsness, who has played Penelope Garcia since the show's inception, expressed gratitude for the series reaching 20 seasons. While acknowledging the sadness of the BAU's departure for a second time, she hinted at the possibility of the show's return, given its consistent popularity. Season 20 of Criminal Minds: Evolution is slated to premiere in 2027.
