Summary
- The Cramps' lost 1977 album produced by Alex Chilton is released.
- Previously unheard songs were shelved for decades before discovery.
- New venture revives label, plans reissues and official merchandise.

The Cramps' lost album, 'Gravest Gravy,' featuring songs recorded with Big Star frontman Alex Chilton in 1977, is set for release on August 21. This collection includes previously unreleased material, like the track "TV Set," offering new music from the band for the first time since their formal end in 2009.
The recordings were initially shelved nearly a decade after their creation, despite Lux Interior and Poison Ivy's attempts to release them. Transferred from pristine reels, the music underwent final selection and mastering by figures including Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, and Pete Lyman, with Poison Ivy's approval.
This release coincides with the relaunch of the Vengeance imprint by Poison Ivy, Larry Hardy, and Jimmy Maslon. They plan to reissue the band's back catalog and officially release merchandise, addressing the prevalence of bootlegged items.
