In 2025, filmmaker Courtney Paige is taking the lead on a new neo-western psychological thriller titled Neon Candy. Paige, who has transitioned from acting to directing, is serving as the writer, director, and producer on the project.
The film follows two sisters who flee an abusive home and go on a dream-like road trip through the desert, only to encounter a series of puzzling events. Paige's production company, Perlino Pictures, which was previously known as Yeehaw Films, is behind the project. Perlino also produced Paige's 2024 thriller Chapel, which was distributed by Tubi and starred Jeremy Sumpter and Lochlyn Munro.
For Neon Candy, Paige has assembled a talented crew, including cinematographer Darren Miller, founder of The Film Hive, who is also producing the picture. Casting is currently underway, led by Farrah West. The film boasts an impressive list of executive producers, including Lochlyn Munro, Courtenay Semel, Alison Urquhart, and others.
In addition to Neon Candy, Perlino Pictures has two more projects in the works. Yellowstone actor and cutting horse trainer Jake Ream will make his directorial debut on The Color of Winter, set to film in Utah in the new year. Perlino will also be producing their third picture, Moccasin, in collaboration with Lochlyn Munro, The McDonough Company, and Angel Studios.
