Veteran broadcaster John Craven is gearing up for the 12th annual Countryfile Ramble for Children in Need. This year's event will take place in the Peak District, with Craven joined by five inspirational young people. He frequently highlights how the children's determination and resilience deeply impact him, stating he never ceases to marvel at their bravery.
The Countryfile Ramble is more than just a scenic walk; it's a platform for participants to share their moving stories. Many children and families have had their lives transformed by projects funded by BBC Children in Need. This initiative helps them overcome significant physical and mental challenges, fostering pride as they complete the ramble.
The event, which has raised over £17.4 million since its 2015 launch, will feature various presenters, including Matt Baker, Anita Rani, Margherita Taylor, and Joe Crowley, paired with children who have received support. Examples include Jay and Aine, who benefit from a sibling support group in Northern Ireland, and Tadiwa, who sailed with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust after battling a brain tumour.
Anita Rani will walk with Grace, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and deafness, supported by Seashell Trust's holiday programme. Margherita Taylor will join Bethan, a young cancer survivor supported by Team Jak. The 2026 Countryfile Ramble is scheduled to air on BBC One on Sunday, October 25.
