Country Star Jelly Roll Battles Mental Health Struggles on Australia Tour

In late 2025, country music star Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has been facing a difficult time during his tour in Australia. The 40-year-old singer has been open about reaching one of the lowest points he's experienced in years while thousands of miles away from his family and support system.

During an appearance on the "No Filter with Kate Langbroek" podcast, Jelly Roll candidly shared that the long-distance trip has challenged him in unexpected ways. He revealed that he's been struggling mentally, saying, "I'm falling apart. It's a horrible week. I'm doing the worst mentally I've done in a long time." The demanding travel schedule and lack of tour buses have left him feeling isolated, as he's been spending a lot of time alone in his hotel room.

Jelly Roll's physical health issues have also taken a toll on his overall well-being. He explained that his stomach problems have had a "domino effect" on his mental state, saying, "When my stomach's not right, nothing's right. My mind's not right. Everything. I'm just not thinking clear." The singer's struggles ultimately led him to cancel his final concert in Auckland, New Zealand, due to illness, a rare occurrence for the performer.

Despite the challenges, Jelly Roll has been using breathing exercises and self-talk to try to steady himself. However, he admits that all he wants is to return home to Tennessee, as "everybody wants to go home when they're sick."
