Megan Moroney and Kacey Musgraves have achieved a historic first, becoming the first women whose primary genre is country music to simultaneously hold the No. 1 spots on Billboard's premier all-genre song and album charts. This landmark accomplishment is the first of its kind since the Hot 100's inception in August 1958 and the Billboard 200's in March 1956.
Moroney's album "Cloud 9" and the song "Choosin' Texas," which features Musgraves, are instrumental to this double chart-topping feat. "Choosin' Texas" also saw Miranda Lambert as a co-writer and co-producer. Both "Cloud 9" and "Choosin' Texas" are Sony Music Entertainment releases, marking a significant commercial success for the artists and their label.
The charts dated March 7 will be updated on Billboard.com on March 3. This historic event underscores a new era for country music artists on the global music stage, breaking significant chart records.
