Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, has not been cast in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping. Director Francis Lawrence stated that the character of young Plutarch Heavensbee required an actor who appeared considerably older than the 23-year-old Hoffman.
The role was ultimately filled by Jesse Plemons, 38, an actor known for his selective roles and previous collaboration with Philip Seymour Hoffman in The Master. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group praised Plemons's talent and suitability for the character.
