The British crime drama "Cooper & Fry" has secured a new U.S. home with streamer BritBox acquiring Season 1 for U.S. and Canada distribution. Netflix has also obtained second-window UK rights for the series. This follows the show's success on the UK's Channel 5.
Adapted from Stephen Booth's bestselling novels, "Cooper & Fry" features detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry, portrayed by Robert James-Collier and Mandip Gill. The series is set against the backdrop of England's Peak District, where the pair investigate remote countryside crimes.
Filming is currently in progress for Season 2, which is slated for a 2027 debut. This upcoming season will adapt four of Booth's novels, including "The Devil's Edge" and "Fall Down Dead." The show is produced by Clapperboard, a Studio TF1 company.
"Cooper & Fry" has seen significant international sales, with acquisitions by broadcasters in Australia, Italy, the Balkans, Ireland, Scandinavia, the Benelux, and Japan, underscoring its global appeal. Studio TF1 highlighted the series' strong procedural format and compelling detective duo as key to its worldwide success.
