Comedian's Airport Mix-Up: Billy Bishop vs. Fake Husband

Comedian Jess Barone recently shared a humorous anecdote about Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport, initially mistaking its name for that of a person rather than an aviation landmark. The downtown island airport is indeed named after Air Marshal William Avery "Billy" Bishop, a distinguished Canadian fighter pilot from World War I, recognized for his bravery with the Victoria Cross. This naming confusion arose as Barone spent considerable time in Toronto while filming the second season of the Prime Video comedy series "Overcompensating," in which she is a writer and star. Filming for "Overcompensating" frequently utilized the University of Toronto campus. Recently, Barone also made an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" to promote her Netflix special, "Galaxy Brain," which debuted the day prior. During the talk show, she notably wore a metallic Missoni dress previously seen on Mischa Barton in "The O.C."
