Comedian Everett Finds Joy in Giggling Friendships

In October 2025, comedian Everett, the star of the HBO series Somebody Somewhere, spoke about the importance of friendship in her life. Attending the New York City Ballet's Fall Fashion Gala, Everett shared that she values connections with people who make her laugh and don't have high expectations.

Everett recalled a recent encounter with her friend and collaborator Marc Shaiman, with whom she worked on her autobiographical show Rock Bottom in 2014. She revealed that Shaiman's giggling had "lit her up for the next two weeks," highlighting the joy she finds in such lighthearted moments.

The 53-year-old actress also expressed delight in the Emmy win of her Somebody Somewhere costar Jeff Hiller. Everett described the experience as a "Cinderella story," with the writers and crew of the show celebrating Hiller's well-deserved recognition. She noted that their on-screen alter-ego besties, Joel and Sam, have a tradition of enjoying martinis together, though Hiller joked that he has to be more mindful of his alcohol intake compared to his character.
