Colin Farrell Hints at The Penguin Season 2 Possibility

In a recent interview, Farrell expressed his hesitation about the idea, stating that he generally has a "bit of a negativity bias" and would "bet against" another season, though not by a wide margin. However, the actor noted that "the powers that be" have been exploring storylines that could justify extending the series.

Interestingly, Farrell revealed that The Penguin series was designed to lead directly into the upcoming The Batman Part II, which is set to start filming in the spring of 2027 and release on October 1, 2027. He explained that the "death at the end of The Batman and the devastation within Gotham opened up a power vacuum that then Oz could try and capitalize on," providing a natural transition into the next installment of the Batman saga.

While Farrell remains uncertain about a second season of The Penguin, the show's creator, Matt Reeves, has expressed openness to exploring more projects within his Batman universe. However, Reeves has stated that his immediate priority is The Batman Part II, and he will resume discussions about potential spinoffs once that film is firmly in place.
