Cocktail 2 Shoot Paused Amid Delhi's Air Pollution and Security Concerns
11 Nov
Summary
- Cocktail 2 shoot postponed due to rising air pollution and security issues in Delhi
- Blast near Red Fort leaves Delhi on high alert, impacting film's schedule
- Makers plan to resume Delhi shoot in December if conditions improve
As of November 11th, 2025, the upcoming Bollywood film Cocktail 2 has hit an unexpected pause in its production schedule. The film, which was set to begin its Delhi shoot on November 12th, has been postponed due to the alarming rise in air pollution levels in the capital and heightened security concerns following a recent blast near the Red Fort.
According to reports, the film's lead actors—Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna—along with the entire crew, were scheduled to commence filming in various iconic and bustling locations across Delhi, including South Delhi, Central Delhi, and the university area. However, the uncertainty surrounding both the air quality and the security situation in the city has prompted the makers to delay the shoot.
The decision was made after carefully evaluating the current circumstances in Delhi. The air pollution crisis and the impact of the recent blast near the Red Fort, which left nine people dead and 20 others injured, have raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of the cast and crew. As a result, the Delhi schedule has been postponed, with the makers now planning to resume filming in December, provided the conditions improve.
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 serves as a sequel to the 2012 hit film Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The new installment promises a fresh storyline and cast, with Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika taking center stage.
