Peacock has dropped the planned 'Clueless' sequel series, which was revealed to be in development in April 2025. Alicia Silverstone was slated to reprise her beloved role as Cher and also serve as an executive producer alongside original film director Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence.
The project, a collaboration between CBS Studios and Universal Television, will no longer proceed with the streamer. However, there is still potential for the show, as CBS Studios intends to continue developing the intellectual property and seek other buyers.
Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for their work on 'The O.C.' and 'Gossip Girl,' are attached to write and executive produce the potential series. Jordan Weiss, creator of 'Dollface,' is also serving as a writer and executive producer.
