Clooney Shields Sandler's Dramatic Talents in 'Jay Kelly'

In October 2025, longtime friends and co-stars Adam Sandler and George Clooney are set to appear together in the upcoming film 'Jay Kelly'. Clooney, who portrays an actor on a path of self-discovery, has revealed that he had one key rule on set - no one was allowed to refer to Sandler by his famous nickname 'Sandman'.

Clooney explains that since 'Jay Kelly' is a more serious and dramatic project than what Sandler is typically known for, he wanted to ensure his friend's incredible acting talents were properly recognized. "You get treated the way you treat yourself. This was a different kind of role for Adam, and I wanted to make sure that he wasn't making fun of his incredible talent," Clooney stated.

Sandler, known for his comedic roles, appreciated Clooney's efforts to protect his dramatic performance. "He just is very protective of me. He's a really nice guy," Sandler commented about Clooney's actions on set. 'Jay Kelly' follows a veteran actor who has a wake-up call and goes on a soul-searching trip to Europe to find meaning in his life. The film is set to hit select theaters next month on November 14.
