Clive Barker's new "Library of the Dead" anthology project is set to launch on August 18 exclusively via Kickstarter. This extensive collection comprises three distinct books: "Fear Eternal," "Pyres of Bedlam," and "Dark Descents," serving as a spiritual successor to Barker's seminal "Books of Blood."
The "Library of the Dead" anthologies will feature a curated selection of both new and previously published stories from the acclaimed horror and fantasy author. These tales delve into profound themes such as obsession, mythology, and the interplay between beauty and horror. Each volume is enhanced with black-and-white illustrations, evocative poetry, and distinctive new cover artwork.
In addition to the core anthology, the Kickstarter campaign is offering exclusive collectible items. Among these is the "Books of Blood Remastered Edition," a luxurious two-volume, leather-bound set of Barker's career-launching "Books of Blood." This special edition includes fresh illustrations alongside fan-favorite stories like "Rawhead Rex" and "The Midnight Meat Train."
Further exclusive offerings include "The Art of Clive Barker Portfolio," a collection of fine art prints, and the "Library of the Dead Book Coffin," a unique display piece designed to house the entire collection. The project is being brought to life by Barker's long-time collaborators Phil and Sarah Stokes, under the author's creative imprint, Clive Barker Ink, in partnership with Ensata Press.
