In 2025, renowned cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran, who has worked on acclaimed films like 'Black,' 'Saawariya,' and 'My Name Is Khan,' revealed a fascinating story from his past. During his college days, Chandran was a devoted fan of the late actress Sridevi, who had earned superstardom with her incredible work.
Chandran recalls that he used to cut out Sridevi's pictures from newspapers, magazines, and film posters, and paste them all over the walls of his hostel room, creating a dedicated 'Sridevi room.' He even stole a cut-out of Sridevi from a theater and brought it to his room. Chandran and his friends would offer prayers to Sridevi during exam sessions.
Years later, Chandran's fate took an unexpected turn when he had the chance to meet Sridevi in person. After a meeting with director Rajkumar Santoshi, Chandran, Santoshi, and actor Anil Kapoor decided to watch a movie together. Kapoor then called Sridevi to join them, and she arrived to sit in the back seat of Chandran's car, with him in the middle. Chandran was left completely speechless, but he later detailed the 'Sridevi room' to her, and she graciously responded that she had seen all his films, making it one of the most unforgettable moments of his life.
