Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is set to unveil its 2026-2027 season, promising a dynamic mix of theatrical experiences. Producing Artistic Director and CEO Brian Isaac Phillips described the season as "bold storytelling and theatrical exhilaration," encompassing Shakespeare's political dramas, farces, American history, and modern satire.
The season's offerings include Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," reimagined in 1776 for the "Free Shakespeare in the Park" series, alongside a unique perspective on the same play from the watchmen's point of view.
Audiences can also anticipate "The Complete Works of Jane Austen (Abridged)," a satirical take on Austen's novels, and the immersive stage adaptation of the film "Network." The Halloween season will feature "Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors," a humorous reimagining of the gothic classic.
Other productions include Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor," set as a winter wonderland tale, and the return of the holiday favorite "Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)." The season will also present "The African Company Presents Richard III," a true story about an all-Black theatre troupe in 1821.
Rounding out the season are Shakespeare's iconic tragedies "Hamlet" and "Coriolanus," alongside the comedic disaster "Peter Pan Goes Wrong."
