Mary J. Blige & Trey Songz Electrify Cincinnati Fest Finale

The Cincinnati Music Festival celebrated its enduring legacy, culminating in a star-studded final night on July 25th at Paycor Stadium. The evening featured a captivating lineup of R&B icons and hip-hop pioneers, providing a nostalgic journey for attendees.

Heatwave, the legendary funk and R&B band from Dayton, kicked off the night. Earlier that afternoon, the group was honored with induction into the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame. Their performance included family members joining them on stage, celebrating their iconic hits like 'Boogie Nights' and 'The Groove Line.'

Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick followed, transforming the stadium into an energetic dance floor. They performed beloved classics and a medley of hip-hop anthems, with Doug E. Fresh even teaching the crowd the popular 'dougie' dance. The duo encouraged the audience to 'have fun' during their set.

Mary J. Blige, the 'Queen of Hip Hop Soul,' delivered a powerful performance, featuring hits such as 'Real Love' and 'Family Affair.' The crowd enthusiastically sang along, turning the venue into a massive choir, and Blige shared her appreciation for Cincinnati's "beautiful people and good food."

Trey Songz closed out the festival with his signature sensual R&B hits, including 'Heart Attack' and 'Bottoms Up.' Despite a smaller crowd after Blige's performance, those who stayed enjoyed a final dose of nostalgia, with Songz expressing his heartfelt affection for the Queen City, stating, "Cincinnati, I love you forever."
