Chris Hemsworth is stepping behind and in front of the camera for a feature film centered on Australia's Tatts Finke Desert Race. His production banner, Wild State, has secured an exclusive partnership with the race organizers to develop a slate of projects inspired by the demanding two-day motorsport event.
The upcoming film, intended as a starring vehicle for Hemsworth, is in its early stages of development, with Ricky Staub and Dan Walser attached to write the screenplay. Wild State, co-founded by Hemsworth and Ben Grayson, is also creating unscripted content.
This includes a special project tracking freestyle motocross legend Robbie Maddison as he prepares for his first Finke Desert Race competition. Hemsworth expressed his long-standing passion for off-road racing, highlighting the excitement of partnering with the event as it approaches its 50th anniversary.
Renowned as Australia's most thrilling off-road competition, the Tatts Finke Desert Race is a major annual event in the Northern Territory. It is recognized globally for its difficulty and remote terrain. The milestone 50th anniversary of the race is scheduled for June.
