The official trailer showcases Jesus, portrayed by Jonathan Roumie, facing profound questions about his divine purpose and perceived challenge to Roman authority. The narrative promises to explore the events through the eyes of both his followers and his accusers.
This season's logline highlights the conflicting perspectives on Jesus' fate, labeling it justice, peace, or murder, while emphasizing his resolute plan leading to the cross. The final episode of season 6 will be presented as a feature film in theaters on March 12, 2027.
Series creator Dallas Jenkins released a teaser in July, and the show, which debuted in 2019, is building towards its conclusion. Actor Jonathan Roumie has previously expressed that classifying the show solely as 'religious' might deter potential viewers, preferring to see it as a narrative film with the potential for religious experience.
